How to configure Windows Live Mail

How do I add an email account in the Windows Live Mail Client that I have created in cPanel?

Please note, you can use the auto-configuration link in your cPanel when you create an email account. this will set up the email account in your client automatically.

When you first open Windows Live Mail you will see the prompt to add an email account. You may also click "Add e-mail account" in the left pane to open the wizard.

Enter your email account details. Replace you@domain.com with your email address, and domain.com your your domain name.

 

  • Email Address: you@domain.com
  • Password: [your password]
  • Display name: [your name]
  • Check the box "Manually configure server settings for e-mail account
Windows Live Mail Step 1

Click Next and enter the following details:
  • Incoming Server Type: POP3 or IMAP
  • Incoming server: mail.domain.com
  • Port (POP3): 110
  • Port (IMAP): 143
  • Login ID: you@domain.com
  • Outgoing server: mail.domain.com
  • Enable the option: My outgoing server requires authentication
  • Outgoing port: 25
Please note, some ISP's have begun disabling access to port 25. If your ISP is blocking this port, please use port 26 for your outgoing server.

Click Next and your account is now set up.
